..Corrado Augias and Maestro Aurelio Canonici—a conductor and composer—picked up the thread connecting music and the quest for the divine through a successful series of Sunday lectures hosted at the Auditorium… Maestro Canonici sought to delve into the structure of specific pieces to describe eternity: Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony… or Wagner’s “Lohengrin” Prelude… or even “Parsifal” and the search for the Grail… Augias drew the inspiration for this lecture series from his extensive experience at RAI, where he used to analyze musical works alongside Maestro Canonici and the RAI Symphony Orchestra of Turin. That orchestra was magnificent at performing the pieces while we analyzed them in the studio, recounting the circumstances behind them and helping the audience understand the language of music.
