The Dawn Concert at Villa Rufolo
Aurelio Canonici conducted the Ravello Festival Orchestra with grace and liveliness

…The concert programme, quite apart from the interest of the pieces presented and the quality of the performers, gave the spectators who flocked to Villa Rufolo, a rare and fascinating experience… Listening to the diligent Ravello Festival Orchestra, brilliantly conducted by Aurelio Canonici, created an emotional impact that tugged at the audience’s heart-strings… Gioachino Rossini’s Overture, La Gazza ladra was expressed with a bright vitality by Aurelio Canonici and the Orchestra, composed of the musicians from the Verdi Theatre in Salerno and demonstrated cohesion and versatility… After some minutes of enthusiastic applause, encores were in great demand… The Ravello Festival produced a true musical event… The first violin proved to be a reliable lead for the strings and an excellent collaborator for the brilliant Canonici whom we hope to hear again at the next edition of the Festival.
